The Home and surrounding areas

Homeport Art House is part of the house and grounds owned by Dale Andree and her husband Kyle Saxon, located in South Thomaston, a small village on the Weskeag River of Mid-Coast Maine. The residency is a one-week stay taking place during the Summer. Artists will live in the home with full access to the amenities, including 3 bedrooms with 5 beds, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen. The creative space includes a 20’ X 30’ dance studio, two acres of land on the Weskeag River, and a tidal inlet off Penobscot Bay. Kayaks are available for use when the tide is high. When the tide is low venturing into the mudflats is just as exciting. In addition, there are many local small, rocky beaches, wetlands, fishing harbors, and lighthouses only a short drive away. For museums, local shops, and delicious restaurants, Rockland, the art capital of mid-coast Maine, is a ten-minute drive from HAH.

Artists will have full access to the house including the kitchen and the game room in the basement. We encourage our guests to enjoy the screened-in porch, explore the property and surrounding area, and make use of the available kayaks when the tide is in.
